How to choose

• Cat6 vs Cat6A — Cat6A (e.g. the CAT6A S/FTP and duct-grade options) offers better shielding against interference, useful where cable runs sit near power lines or in dense containment.
• Length — pre-terminated leads run from 1m up to 30m; pick the shortest length that reaches the camera or switch to avoid excess slack in cabinets and enclosures.
• Indoor vs outdoor — the duct-grade Cat6A F/FTD cable is built for external or underground routing; standard U/UTP and S/FTP patch leads are for internal first-fix and patching.
• Shielding — S/FTP and F/FTP constructions add foil and braid screening, worth specifying in electrically noisy plant rooms or alongside mains cabling.
• Colour coding — black, white, orange and blue options are useful for separating PoE camera runs from data or alarm cabling on larger sites.
