Product Description
Cat6 U/UTP outdoor cable for external CCTV and network runs
The Connectix Cat6 U/UTP 305m reel is a solid-copper Cat6 cable with a PE outer sheath, built for outdoor Ethernet runs on CCTV and structured cabling jobs.
Where it fits on a job
- IP camera drops — carries data and PoE to switches on the same run
- AP backhaul and switch uplinks where containment is external
- Structured cabling in cabinets, comms rooms, and LAN installs
Why the build matters
The PE (Polyethylene) outer sheath resists moisture and environmental exposure, so the cable is suited to conduit, external walls, and underground duct routing rather than internal-only jobs. Solid copper conductors support the electrical performance a long PoE run depends on, and the unshielded twisted pair (U/UTP) construction reduces crosstalk and interference along the way.
Standard and throughput
Built to Category 6 standard, the cable supports 10/100/1000 Mbps Ethernet, giving Gigabit headroom over Cat5e on the same run, plus PoE delivery for cameras and access points. It terminates onto standard RJ45 connectors, patch panels, and keystone jacks, so it drops into existing structured cabling without a change of termination hardware.
Deployment
Supplied on a 305 metre pull box reel, it's designed for continuous, low-waste feed on multi-drop installations — pull what's needed from the box without unspooling the whole reel. Colour is black, useful for external runs where a camera-cable colour scheme is already in use on site.
