Product Description
Connectix Cat6 U/UTP Outdoor Cable, 1m, PE, Solid Copper, Black
A 1 metre outdoor-rated Cat6 cable, useful where a camera, switch or access point sits close to its patch point and a long lead just means excess to dress or hide.
Solid copper conductors carry data and power consistently along the run — relevant on PoE links, where the same cable feeds an IP camera or wireless access point as well as carrying its data.
Where it fits
- Category 6, U/UTP — unshielded twisted-pair construction, relying on the twist itself (not a foil/braid layer) to control crosstalk.
- Speed — supports 10/100/1000 Mbps, i.e. Gigabit Ethernet, plus PoE applications.
- Sheath — PE (polyethylene), suited to conduit runs, external walls, underground ducting, or tougher indoor runs.
- Termination — works with RJ45 connectors, keystone jacks, and patch panels, so it drops into standard structured cabling and CCTV network setups.
Typical use
Short camera-to-switch or camera-to-panel hops in a cabinet or externally near an entry point, where a full-length cable run isn't needed but outdoor-rated protection still is. Pairs naturally with IP CCTV cameras, network switches and structured cabling hardware already using Cat6 and RJ45 termination.
Because it's unshielded, keep runs away from heavy electrical interference sources where possible; for high-interference environments a shielded alternative may suit better.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can this cable be run outdoors for CCTV cameras?
Yes — it has a PE (polyethylene) outer sheath designed for moisture and general weather exposure, suiting conduit, external wall, or underground ducting installation.
Does it support PoE for IP cameras?
Yes, it supports 10/100/1000 Mbps Ethernet and PoE applications, with solid copper conductors for consistent power and data delivery.
Is this a shielded or unshielded cable?
It's U/UTP (unshielded twisted pair), relying on the twisted-pair construction rather than a foil or braid layer to reduce crosstalk.
Which connectors and fittings can be used with it?
It's compatible with RJ45 connectors, keystone jacks, and patch panels, so it fits standard structured cabling and CCTV network setups.
