Product Description
The PROLUX PXD-5108HS-4K/X1 8-Channel 4K DVR is a Penta-brid recorder for jobs where the camera estate is mixed rather than uniform. It accepts HDCVI, AHD, TVI, CVBS and IP inputs, so an installer can bring an existing analogue run onto a new recorder without re-cabling the site.
Channel capacity
- 8 analogue channels (BNC) supporting HDCVI up to 4K/6MP, AHD up to 5MP, TVI up to 5MP, and CVBS (PAL/NTSC)
- 8+4 IP channels, each up to 8MP, for sites adding network cameras alongside coax
- Multiscreen layouts of 1/4/8/9, extending to 1/4/8/9/16 when IP extension mode is enabled
This channel mix suits a phased upgrade — retail units or small warehouses keeping legacy HDCVI/AHD cameras on the shop floor while adding IP cameras at a new entrance or loading bay, all recorded on one box.
Compression and output
H.265+/H.265 dual-stream compression keeps storage demands down over long recording periods. Output is via 1 HDMI (up to 3840×2160) and 1 VGA (up to 1920×1080), so the recorder can feed either a modern 4K monitor or an existing VGA display in a gatehouse or office.
Power and processing
Runs on DC12V/2A, drawing under 10W without a hard drive fitted — a factor worth checking against existing PSU and cabling on a retrofit. The embedded Linux processor also handles Smart Search and motion-based event recording, with audio in/out (RCA) reusable for two-way talk.
