Product Description
A PoE extender solves one specific job on a CCTV run: it pushes power and data up to 100 metres past the standard Ethernet cable limit, so a camera sited beyond the normal 90-100m ceiling still gets a clean Gigabit link and full PoE power from one cable run.
Where it fits
- Long cable runs to outdoor cameras on warehouse perimeters, yard poles or distant building wings
- Multi-building sites where the switch room is further from the camera than a single cable segment allows
- Retrofit jobs where re-routing cable back to the rack isn't practical
Key specs
- Increases the reach of PoE by as much as 100 metres.
- Works with both IEEE 802.3af and 802.3at PoE standards
- Gigabit Ethernet data throughput
- RJ45 PoE input and PoE output ports
- It draws its power through the PoE input, so no separate power supply is required.
- Plug and play — no configuration
- Compact metal housing with passive cooling vents
Deployment notes
It's installed inline between two Ethernet cable segments, regenerating both signal and power so the downstream device sees a fresh 100m run. Pair it with an 802.3af/at PoE switch or injector and any PoE IP camera or access point. Because it draws its own power from the incoming PoE feed, no mains supply is required at the extender location — useful where running additional power isn't feasible.
