Product Description
Dahua DH-PFS4218-16ET-240: a 16-port PoE switch built for camera runs, not office LANs
The Dahua DH-PFS4218-16ET-240 answers the question most installers ask first: will it power the cameras and manage the network on one box. It's a Layer 2 managed PoE switch with 16 × 100 Mbps PoE ports plus 2 × Gigabit combo ports, giving a clean split between camera-side connections and an uplink to the NVR or core network.
Why it suits surveillance projects specifically
Total PoE budget is 240W, covering PoE, PoE+ and Hi-PoE (IEEE802.3af/at plus Hi-PoE) so it can feed a mixed set of standard and higher-draw IP cameras from one switch. A dedicated 'orange port' supports Hi-PoE devices and can be paired with the PFT1300 extender where a run needs extending further.
Distance and diagnostics
It supports PoE transmission over 250 metres, useful on warehouse floors, multi-storey offices or residential blocks where camera runs exceed standard Ethernet limits. Real-time per-port power consumption display and PoE event statistics let installers spot a failing camera or overloaded port without pulling cable. Management is via web interface or Dahua's ConfigTool, and the switch includes high lightning protection and non-blocking video transmission for reliable footage delivery.
Where it fits in a deployment
Typically specified as the camera-side switch feeding an NVR, sitting between edge cameras and core network infrastructure in retail, warehouse or office CCTV installs.
