Product Description
A female-to-female RJ45 coupler joins two terminated Ethernet leads so a run that falls short can be extended without re-terminating either cable. Both sides use standard 8P8C female connectors, the normal RJ45 port type, and the coupler is compatible with Cat5e and Cat6 patch leads. It supports Gigabit Ethernet network speeds, which covers most IP camera, NVR, switch and router connections.
Where it fits on site
- Extending IP camera or NVR runs where the installed lead is a bit short of the cabinet or patch panel
- Structured cabling installations — patch panels, network cabinets, wall outlets
- CCTV IP surveillance projects joining cable runs without re-terminating
- Its small body makes it easy to fit inside junction boxes or cable management trunking for inline use.
Practical notes for specifiers
One coupler joins exactly two leads end to end — it does not boost signal or add distance beyond what the joined cables provide. Confirm both leads are Cat5e or Cat6 rated before joining, since the coupler itself doesn't change the cable's grade. Suits Fast Ethernet and Gigabit Ethernet network segments, so it's appropriate for typical IP camera, NVR, switch and router cabling on retail, warehouse, office and residential block installations where a patch panel or wall outlet extension is needed on site.
