Product Description
The BU240 gives a 16-camera analog installation one centralised 12V DC supply instead of sixteen separate plug-top adapters. That's the practical case for it: multi-camera retail units, warehouses, office floors and residential blocks where running individual power packs to each camera location is impractical or untidy.
At its core is a 250W switching supply taking 100–240V AC mains and regulating it to 12V DC, rated for 20A total output split across 16 individually fused channels. Fusing each channel means a short or fault on one camera drop blows that channel's fuse rather than taking down the rest of the run — useful when you're troubleshooting which camera tripped it.
Backup power
A built-in charging circuit accepts a 12V sealed lead-acid battery, switching to it automatically on mains failure so cameras keep running through a power cut. This matters for sites where continuous recording is a compliance or insurance requirement, not just a preference.
Housing and monitoring
The unit ships in a lockable metal wall-mount enclosure with internal terminal blocks for tidy camera and battery wiring — suited to comms cabinets, riser cupboards or dedicated security equipment rooms. LED indicators for power and per-channel output let an installer check status at a glance during commissioning or a fault call rather than pulling every camera lead to test it.
Compatible with analog, HD-TVI, AHD and CVI camera systems that run on standard 12V DC.

Frequently Asked Questions
How many cameras can the BU240 power?
It provides 16 individually fused 12V DC output channels with 20A total capacity, so load per camera needs to stay within that combined limit.
Does it keep cameras running during a power cut?
Yes — it has a built-in charging circuit for a 12V sealed lead-acid battery and switches to battery automatically if mains power fails.
What camera types is it compatible with?
Analog, HD-TVI, AHD and CVI cameras that run on standard 12V DC power.
Where is it meant to be installed?
It's built as a lockable metal wall-mount enclosure, suited to equipment rooms, security cabinets or structured cabling cupboards rather than open display.
