14TB storage drives for CCTV and NAS deployments

This range covers five 14TB 3.5" SATA hard drives, spanning enterprise, NAS-optimised and standard desktop-class designs. All are aimed at continuous or near-continuous write workloads typical of recorder storage and network-attached storage builds.

How to choose

• Workload class: enterprise drives (Exos, MG07ACA) are built for sustained, high-duty-cycle operation such as multi-channel NVR arrays. NAS drives (IronWolf Pro, N300) are tuned for RAID and always-on file-serving. The WD140EDFZ's 5400RPM spin speed suits capacity-led, lower-throughput storage.
• Rotational speed: 7200RPM drives generally deliver higher sustained throughput than 5400RPM, relevant when recording multiple high-resolution camera streams simultaneously.
• Deployment type: for NVR or NAS enclosures running several drives in an array, NAS-specific models are designed with that vibration and workload profile in mind.
• Capacity per bay: at 14TB each, all five suit projects needing high storage density per drive bay, such as retail, warehouse or office CCTV installations with long retention requirements.
