Product Description
The Seagate ST4000NM0033 is a 4TB 3.5" SATA III hard drive built for continuous DVR/NVR recording, not just occasional desktop use. That distinction matters when specifying storage for a retail, warehouse or office CCTV install where the recorder runs 24/7.
Why it suits CCTV deployments
Surveillance recording is a sustained, sequential write workload — very different from the burst read/write pattern of a general PC drive. This drive's 7200 RPM spindle speed and 128MB cache keep write performance consistent under that kind of continuous load, and the SATA III interface (up to 600MB/s) means it won't bottleneck multi-channel systems writing several camera streams at once.
Compatibility
It's compatible with all DVR and NVR surveillance systems, so it drops into most existing kits without a system change. It also works in desktops, servers, NAS devices and external enclosures, which is useful if a site keeps a spare drive for swapping between the recorder and a backup enclosure.
Grading and installation
Drives are supplied Refurbished to Grade A standard and fully tested before dispatch. On CCTV kit or package orders, the drive arrives fully installed and ready to go — no separate fitting into the recorder needed on site.
