Product Description
What this balun is for
A passive video balun converts coax-style CCTV signal onto Cat5e or Cat6 twisted-pair cable, letting installers run structured cabling instead of coax on a job. This unit adds Power over Coax (PoC) support, so a PoC-compatible camera can be powered down the same cable run that carries its video, cutting the separate power cabling needed on a first fix.
Where it fits in a deployment
Baluns of this type are used in pairs — one at the camera, one at the DVR — so plan for two per camera run. Typical uses include retrofits where Cat5e/Cat6 is already in the walls, new-build structured cabling installs, and multi-camera jobs across offices, retail units, warehouses or residential blocks where coax runs would be impractical.
