Product Description
A passive video balun lets you run HD CCTV signal over Cat5e/Cat6 cable instead of coax, with one unit at the camera and one at the DVR. No local power is needed at either end.
What it does
This balun converts the balanced signal from a Cat5e/Cat6 twisted pair back to unbalanced BNC, so HD-TVI, AHD, CVI or standard analog cameras can connect to a DVR without running coax the full distance. It supports resolutions up to 8MP (4K), covering current high-definition CCTV camera ranges.
Connections
- BNC male connector for direct connection to the camera or DVR
- Screw terminal block for the twisted-pair leg — no crimp tool or specialist connector required
- Built for Cat5e or Cat6 cable runs
Where it fits on a job
On retail, warehouse or office installs where containment already carries structured cabling, this balun avoids pulling separate coax runs — useful on refits or extensions to an existing network first-fix. Because the design is passive, use one balun at the camera end and a matching one at the DVR end; signal stability over distance depends on cable quality and the video format/resolution in use, so check compatibility with your DVR's supported input format before specifying at 8MP.
