1TB CCTV hard drives
This range covers 1TB 3.5" SATA hard drives intended for CCTV recorders, including Seagate and Western Digital Green Power models. All are positioned for continuous, around-the-clock recording rather than general PC storage.
A 1TB drive suits smaller installations: a handful of cameras on a domestic or small retail system, or a secondary/spare drive for an existing recorder. Actual recording time depends on camera count, resolution, frame rate and how long footage needs to be retained, so capacity should always be matched to the recorder's channel count and the site's retention policy.
How to choose
- Recorder compatibility — confirm the drive fits your DVR/NVR's supported drive list and drive bay (3.5" SATA here).
- Drive class — surveillance-rated drives are built for sustained write cycles; check this matters more on busier sites recording continuously.
- Number of cameras and retention period — more cameras or longer retention needs greater capacity or multiple drives.
- Redundancy — some installers fit a second drive for backup or extended storage rather than relying on a single unit.
Choose based on the recorder you're pairing it with and how much footage the site realistically needs to keep.
