Product Description
The WD Green 1TB HDD (WD10EURX) is a 3.5" SATA drive built for quiet, energy-conscious operation — a sensible spec for DVR/NVR storage bays where drives run continuously.
Where it fits on a job
- Small retail units and offices: single-drive DVR/NVR upgrades or replacements where 1TB covers a modest camera count at standard recording settings.
- Residential blocks and small sites: adding or swapping storage in an existing recorder without a full system rebuild.
- NAS and general storage roles: the same drive also suits desktop PCs, servers, and external enclosures outside the CCTV cabinet.
Key specs
- Capacity: 1TB
- Spindle speed: 5400 RPM — quieter running and lower power draw than a 7200 RPM equivalent
- Interface: 3.5" SATA
- Compatible with: Suited to DVR and NVR surveillance setups, along with desktops, servers, NAS units and external enclosures
Selection notes for installers
Because it runs at 5400 RPM, this drive prioritises reduced noise and power consumption over the raw throughput of a faster spindle speed — worth weighing against channel count and bitrate when sizing storage for a busy multi-camera install. It's supplied fully installed and ready to fit into the recorder before dispatch, so no separate formatting step is needed on site.
Note the SKU is also listed under several equivalent codes in our system, including HDD-1TB-WD-GREEN-POWER-R and HDD-1TB-GREEN-POWER — all refer to this same drive.
