Product Description
A 500GB 3.5" SATA hard drive built around continuous write cycles, which is what recorders demand. DVRs and NVRs write to disk constantly rather than in short bursts, and this WD drive is rated for that duty — 24/7 continuous recording, external storage or backup server work.
Why this matters for a recorder build
Recorder drives fail early when fitted with desktop-class disks not designed for sustained writes. Specifying a drive rated for 24/7 operation from the outset avoids an early replacement job on a system that's otherwise finished and cabled.

Fitting and compatibility
Ordered alongside any CCTV kit or package from this range, the drive arrives fitted and ready to go — no separate install step on site. It's compatible with all DVR and NVR surveillance systems, so recorder brand or generation isn't a constraint when specifying it.
Beyond CCTV
The same drive suits desktops, servers, NAS devices and external enclosures, which is worth knowing if a recorder gets swapped out and the drive needs repurposing elsewhere on a job.
