8MP (4K-class) cameras give roughly double the pixel density of 4MP, useful where you need to zoom into number plates, faces or till areas after the event without losing detail.

This range covers turret, bullet, mini bullet and dual-lens panoramic formats, mixing standard PoE models with PoC (power-over-coax) versions for sites that already have coaxial cabling in place. Several use Hikvision's ColorVu or Smart Hybrid Light technology, which keeps colour visible in low light by combining a fixed lens with supplementary illumination rather than relying on infrared alone.

How to choose

• Cabling already installed — PoC models (the 4K ColorVu PoC turret and mini bullet options) suit sites with existing coax runs; standard PoE models suit new Cat5e/6 cabling.
• Field of view — the dual-lens panoramic bullet and dual-lens stitched wide-angle turret cover wider areas from a single mounting point, reducing camera count in open spaces like warehouse floors or car parks.
• Low-light priority — ColorVu and Smart Hybrid Light models are built for colour retention after dark, relevant to retail fronts and residential blocks.
• Audio requirement — some turrets include built-in microphone or two-way audio for reception areas or gated entrances.
• Lens type — fixed lenses (2.8mm on several models) suit fixed-distance coverage such as doorways or aisles.
