4MP IP Cameras – ColorVu, PTZ & Turret Models

4MP IP cameras sit at a practical sweet spot for UK trade installs: sharper than 2MP for face and numberplate detail, without the storage and bandwidth overhead of 4K. This range of 10 covers bullet, turret and PTZ formats, all PoE, suited to retail premises, warehouses, offices and residential blocks.

Several models use Hikvision ColorVu or Smart Hybrid Light, combining white light with IR for colour footage in low light — useful for entrances, car parks and loading bays where identifying colour (clothing, vehicles) matters. Fixed-lens turrets and bullets suit set-view coverage of doorways and corridors, while motorised varifocal models (DS-2CD2646G2-IZSU/SL, DS-2CD2H45FWD-IZS) allow field-of-view adjustment after mounting — handy where the exact throw distance isn't fixed at design stage. The PTZ models (25x zoom, up to 100m IR) suit open yards, perimeters and car parks needing active monitoring and long-range identification.

How to choose

• Coverage type: fixed bullet/turret for defined areas; PTZ where operators need to track or zoom.
• Lighting: ColorVu or Hybrid Light variants for colour detail at night; standard IR where discreet monitoring is enough.
• Lens: motorised varifocal for flexible framing; fixed lens where distance is known.
• Mounting: bullet for a visible, directional deterrent; turret for a compact, discreet dome-style fit.

All models are PoE, so power and data run over a single cable back to an NVR or switch.
