Product Description
The Netgenium AUG3201-IP is an audio gateway that converts analogue audio to IP streams, and IP audio back to analogue — used to bridge older sound equipment into an IP network without replacing it.
What it does
On the input side, the gateway accepts analogue audio from sources such as microphones or an NVR's audio output, converts it to a digital stream, and pushes it across your IP LAN to a network of IP PoE speakers. This is how one source feeds announcements or alerts to multiple points in a building.
On the output side, it does the reverse: audio arriving from IP applications — scheduled announcement systems, pre-recorded broadcasts, or a PA system — can be output to a conventional amplifier or 8 Ohm speakers, so existing analogue sound systems stay in service alongside new IP infrastructure.
It also supports integration with SIP IP telephony systems, so voice communication and broadcasts can run over network-based telephony platforms.
Where it fits
- PA and announcement systems needing to reach IP PoE speaker networks from an analogue source
- Security installs where NVR audio needs distributing over IP
- Building communication systems mixing legacy analogue amplifiers with new IP audio
- Sites retaining 8 Ohm speaker runs that shouldn't need re-cabling to go IP
Specify it where a project has to bridge, not replace, analogue and IP audio — it's the interface piece rather than a speaker or amplifier itself.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can the AUG3201-IP work with existing analogue speakers?
Yes — it can output IP audio streams to a conventional amplifier or 8 Ohm speakers, so existing analogue sound systems can stay in place.
Which analogue sources can connect to the gateway?
Sources such as microphones or an NVR's audio output can be converted into an IP audio stream by the AUG3201-IP.
Does it support SIP telephony?
Yes, the AUG3201-IP can connect to SIP IP telephony platforms for voice calls and audio announcements.
What is the AUG3201-IP typically used for?
It's suited to public address systems, security installations and building communication systems that need to bridge analogue and IP audio infrastructure.
